Let's Go Fishing!

Come join Captain James LaVanway for an exciting day of inshore, nearshore, saltwater or freshwater fishing on the beautiful coastal waters of Charleston, South Carolina. Whether you are looking to catch flounder, red drum (spot tail bass), trout, sheepshead, largemouth bass, catfish, shell cracker, crappie, bream or more, you won't be disappointed with your experience. We even take you crabbing. From "beginner" to "Pro" he can fully accommodate your guiding needs.
Captain James uses the industry's first truly inshore /offshore fishing boat in the 25 foot category.... The SCOUT 251XS. With it's forward seating, the Scout 251XS was designed to be a hybrid model capable of handling and performing in both inshore and offshore waters. This model has a draft of 13 inches for backwater fishing while the hull design and freeboard allow it to slice through offshore waves while keeping you dry. Beyond the stunning lines, ample fishing features and creature comforts, the 251 XS also showcases SCOUT’s revolutionary T- top glass enclosure keeping you cool on sunny days and out of the wind on cooler ones. This boat has a 300 HP Yamaha four-stroke engine, which can get you to and from your destination in short order.  Some other features on this boat includes aerated bait well, leaning post with backrest, FM stereo with iPod jack (bring your own tunes!). JL audio speakers, a Garmin 5212 GPS depth finder and a transom ladder in case you want to go for swim. The boat has plenty of storage capacity so you don't have to pack light!

The boat can easily accommodate 6 passengers and provides a comfortable and safe ride to our fishing destinations.  I provide the rods, reels, tackle, bait & ice but feel free to bring your own fishing gear if you prefer.  Captain James offers Half Day, ¾ Day and Full Day Charters.

Not only can you enjoy a day of catching plenty of fish but you will also have a blast catching a glimpse of marine life in its natural habitat with his Aqua Vu underwater viewing system. We do hope that you will bring along a camera to take plenty of pictures, but in case you forgot, Captain James can provide you with digital pictures of your once in a lifetime fishing excursion. So email him at or call him at (843) 697-2081 and we can get your day reserved.
